To get that skin glowing and feeling healthy, you need to take care of your skin and you can do this by having a good skin routine. This is one thing I have struggled with, honestly, it’s exhausting when you’re in bed all ready to sleep and then you remember that you haven’t prepped your face! You think ugh why can’t I just skip on a day, my skins really not going to suffer that much from missing a day, and you’re right to a certain extent, the effect isn’t always big but can occur, and secondly the effect can be psychological, sounds ridiculous, but once its done once, we can start creating reasons why not to do it next time, basically try not to break the routine.
Summertime skin is very different, happier skin as there’s a lot more moisture in the air, the lighting also really affects the way we look, we generally look healthier in the summer. Winter is a real sad time for our faces, the air is so dry, really takes in all the moisture in our skin and even when you don’t have a skin routine, you find yourself running to the moisturiser and lip balm. Although saying that, summer has its own problems, the constant hair growth and the fact that shaving is just not good enough, I mean how fast does my hair grow in a week, I can tell you very fast! Although as my previous posts have shown how much I loved the BIC razors, I really have been trying to move on from shaving, or even waxing because I have such a low pain threshold and it just doesn’t seem to slow the growing process and by that I mean that it just doesn’t seem to cut the hairs deep enough for me to not be a werewolf in 4 days, I’ve been looking into alternatives, I’ve looked into Nair cream, they’re good as the hair growth is slower well technically what that means is that it cuts the hair much deeper, I’ve been looking into a wet and dry epilator Panasonic and goodness knows that i need those options, my skin has a mind of its own, it at times prefers being wet or else it comes up with all sorts of rashes and sometimes it won’t.
Getting back to makeup or my lack of it, My non-existent beauty skin routine is at first anything cheap when I’m really not bothered, but when I am genuinely concerned for my skin, I stick to my night routine of homemade clay mask made from Botanite clay and honey, at times when I’m feeling fruity and rebellious, I add items such as tea tree oil or lemon (yes I am aware lemon is too acidic for the face) then once the mask is washed off, I use a toner and enjoy my restful night.
Getting smooth skin is always one of my greater concerns as I am cursed with my fathers’ skin, whereas my mother and brothers have effortless and beautiful soft skin. In order to achieve this very out of reach goal, I always carry around a Nivea sensitive
Keep moisturised and hydrated, work from the inside first then everything will come together.
I get lazy too sometimes! I do skip some steps of my skincare routine but when my face starts flaring up, I get all panicky. Hahaha, really trying to achieve the natural glow but not be lazy with my skincare routine day and night.
Yeah exactly, almost sort of like drastic measures 😂
Skin care really does start from the inside. Diet and genetics are huge components. But also, we absolutely have to do our part regarding our skin care regimen.
Exactly! There’s so much we can control so we should do our best to eat well and hydrate ourselves.
I think making it a habit could help fix it. Once you form a habit, it’s easier to keep it up because it becomes automatic.
Yeah I’m definitely trying.
Skin care is so important and depends on what you put in as well as on your body!
Exactly. You have to work from the inside first.
