The not so joys of moving house

After 5 years of living in my current home with my family. We have decided that we would like to be more comfortable.

My family and I are moving from a 3 bedroom to a 5 bedroom where not one person has to share a room. Of course this is not a new thing for me (there’s always something good about being the only female sibling)

Of course having not moved house in 5 years has made everything seem comfortable. Fortunately the new house is only 5 minutes away. However this does not make the address change easier as letters, official documents are not influenced by how far you move.

I have no techniques to make moving easier. Tensions has been growing as my siblings and I have been arguing about what room belongs to who. And who’s responsible for packing what areas of the house.

Despite all these negative aspects of moving house, I am absolutely excited for this new adventure in my life. My room is a tad bigger. Everything is much better. And the most exciting part, I get to explore on my creativity in the designing of the new room and house.

  1. I’m happy for you! I’ve moved about 5/6 times throughout my lifetime (including from a different country) and yes it has been a lot, but the beauty about it is getting to “explore” new places which is amazing. Just bask in the moment because in the end you’ll love it!

    1. Me too (about moving lots and different countries) and it is a true about the exploring new places. I hope this new chapter in my life is amazing

  2. Exciting times! I’ve moved house a few times and it’s always so exciting when you find that house that makes your heart leap and you can envision all your belongings in it and make it your own. The actual moving and packing and redirecting mail is a total pain and making sure you’ve remembered everything is always daunting but it’s totally worth it when everything is in, unpacked and you can settle and enjoy it.
