I am normally not a fan of sports drinks due to their negative reputation of not being particularly good for you in the long run, however, I gave Gatorade a try and actually did some research on it. Don’t get me wrong I’m not a healthy person, I just don’t trust sports drink.
Gatorade came out clean on my research and this line got me ‘carbohydrates and electrolytes for better hydration’, my greatest worry when not drinking water, is that I’m not getting properly hydrated. But I can safely say that Gatorade doesn’t make you even more thirsty like most sports drink, it actually hydrates you.
I was sent a box with 4 flavours, Red-orange, orange, lemon, and cool blue. I found that red orange was my favourite. I have no clue what a red-orange is except that it tastes amazing and the other favourite flavour in the house was orange. Nigerians must love oranges it seems.
However in wanting to be honest, I can say the lemon and orange were not to my liking, they tasted overly watered down and didn’t interest me at all. But like I said earlier, orange was my brother’s favourite, so it was definitely just preference.
I genuinely did feel energised after having a drink and was up to get going and getting active. I am not overly active on a daily basis, so you can reason that as I am not incredibly fit but with this drink, I was able to complete a few workouts, so watch out fitness bloggers, Osi’s coming for you, with Gatorade by her side.
My feelings with energy drinks haven’t changed, as I’d much prefer water over anything but I am more open-minded to add Gatorade to my purchase list.
