My Summer Style

Let’s be honest COVID19 has ruined our summer plans, we’re very much all staying at home a lot more than usual.. but anyways

Summer is my favourite season for many reasons and the top 2 is the heat and the fashion. Summer looks are so fresh and jolly. It’s a time to show who you truly are and a top plus is that it is a colourful and warm time.

No hate towards winter fashion, because i personally think it is superior, however i often fall to a glommy, dark ‘i just want to be warm’ type of look. Being warm is my priority and im not ready to pull up to work for the runway knowing i will be freezing all day.

As much as I am not an advocate for fast fashion, I often tend to shop for cheap items, but in fairness 90% of items in my wardrobe are from charity shops. However during lockdown and the lack of charity shops, I have succumbed to online shopping.

A lot of my summer fashion is korean inspired (this is often through kpop or some form of their media) and my wanting to look trendier, because my wardrobe is always ready to tell me I have more pyjamas and joggers that outing clothes.

Here are my top 5 looks that he made their stamp on my instagram page

A free flowing midi dress will always be my favourite because I value comfort over everything. One of my favourite new things is to match a strappy dress with a tee. As much as this has been around a while, I was inspired through korean fashion.

This is another newly purchased favourite from Shein. Belt from eBay (family joke that if you need anything let me know as I’m the eBay queen)

Shorts and summer are a match made in heaven. There are so many cute shorts so I tried to be a bit trendy with these.

What I’ve noticed with new fashion designs is they try and be as unique and different as they can be, individuality has been so highly advocated, that designs are beginning to reflect this. I never really look good in shorts as I have in my opinion quite unattractive legs but that’s never stopped me from wearing what I like.

Everyone has a cute and basic side I’m sure. But this outfit brings me so much joy. It’s so simple and bright and best of all I’ve had the top for years and the trousers are charity shop purchases from a year ago.

The first top I crocheted and I could not be more proud of myself.

I am used to making bags but I found purpose this year and made this super cute and massively imperfect top which I know will be a stay at home top as I am admitting to missing a few stitches that caused misaligning at the end. But it’s still cute and I’m still very much proud.

The trousers are gifted from femme luxe.

Another one of my favourite charity dresses, that had no purpose or life for years, until one day I ordered this chain on EBay and made into something I’m low-key proud of. It isn’t dripping with elegance but it is filled with my confidence and style which to this day is still uncertain.
