So, what’s up with this totally not new but recently popular social media app Tiktok that everyone is jumping on, even celebrities. it’s even now become a new place to form new influencers. So many people are saying It a merge of Vine, but with a 2018 twist.
I first stumbled onto the app early 2019 but quickly ran away from it because I was very comfortable with Instagram and it looked incredibly difficult to work with, almost a year later, had a job change, heavily involved with social media trends and growth and work asks me to look into Tiktok, so I force myself to be completely emerged with this app and I’ve got to say I’m having way too much fun and I can’t even say I’m doing any research for work anymore.
Tiktok Is all about originality and creativity, at least it is if you’re trying to reach people and grow, for the personal use of Tiktok, it’s a fun platform where you can create original content or lip-sync prepopulated content and spin it off into your fun way.
For now, it isn’t overly monetised like Facebook-owned platforms where organic reach is pretty much dead. For businesses Ads are pretty cheap, however, not everyone is jumping on the bandwagon because if you’re not a creative and fun business you will give yourself a headache trying to come up with fun ideas that will reach your targeted audience. The audience is also not as broad as other platforms, it mainly has the younger generation and is currently been looked on by the older generation, but not to worry, with a little time and persuasion from their kids and grandkids, they’ll come running, you can already find some.
Influencers are still able to earn through this platform so that’s very good news, but a word of advice, if you’re a growing influencer, join in! join if you want to avoid the Instagram issue of struggling to grow, because all platforms eventually take the same path, starting of fun and organic and eventually, once they get the right amount of users, they scrap their organic reach and chase the money and only influencers at the top can benefit from this. Tiktok is grown fast and once it gets to a billion users, you will struggle to be heard In the noise.
Type of content that work;
- Funny
- Creative – the conventional meaning of the word (artistically and musically)
- Lip-sync is what the platform is about so you have to spice it up (link the top 2 points and you have a perfect video
- Cute – let’s be honest with ourselves, we like to look at cute things and the platforms move towards beautiful and cute things as all platforms do.
Another bit of honest, Tiktok is a perfect place to try out anything, anyone can view your posts (if you’re not private) and you can find your niche audience, so of course, we all like to think there’s a perfect formula, however, tiktok loves outgoing and fun people.
Also with all the isolation and lockdowns due to the coronavirus, you can have a go. Stay safe everyone!
I definitely will ask for a cheeky follow on TikTok 😋
